ChapterTwenty Eight:
The Catacombs: Angel's Hell Revisited part 3

By the Lady Sirona  ladysirona@LadySirona.com

Buffy touched his lips with her finger and walked over to the door and propped it shut with a chair.
Angel watched in confusion, what was she doing?  She walked toward him with a graceful walk that he
didn't remember seeing before. She seemed somehow more feminine and erotic.  He wasn't sure if was
her love or the fact in his soul she carried his child. The greatest gift a woman could give a man... and a
gift he never thought he would ever have again.

Buffy took his hand, and he followed her gentle pull to the small bed. She stopped when they reached
the side of the bed, and she pulled him slightly and he came into her arms willingly.  She smiled.  He
seemed somewhat lost, and more than willing to let her be the aggressor, and was going with whatever
she wanted... and she wanted it all!

She pulled him into a kiss and he kissed her deeply, plunging his tongue into her mouth tasting her
essence. She invited him in as ever, and sucked on his tongue, enough to make him moan.  He was so
responsive to her touch and she loved it! "Make love to me Angel.  Now! Show me I'm yours!" she
whispered in a hoarse erotic voice to him, when they finally parted.

"Uh, Buffy," Angel attempted to slow the enviable. "Do you really..."

"Yes!" She growled into his mouth.  She attacked him with mouth and tongue as she pushed him
backward so he sat on the cot when the back of his knees hit. She continued to press her body into him
while continuing her oral assault, and soon he was lying on the cot with her straddling him as she kissed
            him deeply

Angel was distressed.  He didn't want to make love to Buffy on the bed where he had raped and killed
his victims!  He couldn't desecrate her with that!  She was lightness and purity, what the hell was he
doing wanting to make love to her in a vampires lair?  He groaned as he withdrew.  Buffy looked at him
with hurt eyes as he started to pull away from her.

"No. Not here, Buffy. Not here." He mumbled more to himself than to her, as he withdrew into his
emotional shell like a turtle. She looked at him, her anger rising. Sometimes his guilt and brooding was a
            pain in the ass!

"Yes, Angel here!"  She grabbed him with the Slayer strength he couldn't ignore, and turned him
toward her.  "I love you Angel.  The past is the past.  I am your present, and I carry your future!" She
splayed her hand over her lower abdomen drawing his attention to the life they knew grew in her.  He
looked away, ashamed and humbled. She reached out gently and brought his face toward her and
looked into his eyes.  How could one man carry such pain and guilt?

"I love you Angel.  You are not Angelus! "  How many times would she have to tell him that before he
believed her?  He would live forever... she knew she had a few years if she was lucky... Her realization
of her mortality crushed her like a vise. "I could care less what Angelus did.  You are here right now.
You are the man I love, and the father of my child.  I need you to hold me and love me. God damn it
Angel I need it right now!"  She growled the last and pulled him into a kiss he couldn't refuse.

He laid he gently on the bed, and she looked up with her large expression filled eyes. Her eyes held
trust and love.  He melted at the thought that she still loved him.  She walked in his lair and she still
loved him! He slowly drew his hand across her breast and then with slow deliberate well-controlled
passion, he filled her every wish.

Giles was lost in the new journals. Many were very short; The Slayers and Watchers didn't live very
long.  The journals told how Anglus stalked the girls, playing with them and torturing them by hurting
their family and friends until they were forced to go after him at the catacombs.  No journal ever
            continued after that entry.

Giles realized just how lucky they were that Angelus was as besotted with Buffy as Angel was and
didn't get anywhere near his usual level of destruction. When he had lost his soul, had he really truly
intended to kill Buffy, she would not have survived.

He reached for the next journal and saw it had an unusual title on cover. It was Gaelic, and as he
translated it his heart went into his throat... "Slayer killer” He looked in it and realized it was the
actual journal of the mythical "Slayer Killer" of Watcher legends.

Giles couldn't believe his luck.  The Watcher council sometimes doubted of his existence, and wrote the
mythical Slayer Killer off as a form mental warfare by the Master.  But Giles always thought it was a
vampire not used often, and never against just any Slayer, just those bothering the Master and his
            plans.

He thought back to what he knew, the Slayer Killer had been his personal study subject, so Giles knew
just what little was actually known about him.   When a Slayer was bothersome enough for the Vampire
master to bother with, she would eventually be sent a written note saying, "I have tended your problem
to the Slayer killer".  It was the usual essence of the note given to the Slayer and her Watcher.  There
were several copies of such notes in the vaults.  Usually between 3 and 6 months at the latest, the Slayer
            would require replacement.

It was unknown if it was just mental warfare or if indeed a Slayer killer existed. The Slayer killer was
rarely seen or described in the watcher's journals, just the destruction and dismantling of the slayers
life.  Her life would start to go to hell, her family, friends and neighbors would die horribly.  Eventually
the Slayer would not return form her patrols and the Watcher would morn.

Giles opened to a random page and saw the date.  It was the time period of a famous Slayer Jolene who
lived in England in 1805.  He read as the writer describe the destruction of her family on Christmas
eve... which mirrored what Giles had read in her Watcher's diaries... He read how they died and the
plan for the next night.  The next entry describe the fall of Jolene, which the Watcher diary did not
recount as the Watcher had been running for his life and didn't know the outcome of the battle.

There was a sketch in the journal of Jolene.  She looked like her photograph.  Except in the picture, it
was obvious she was dead, and the damage to her was displayed in fine detail.  Then Giles saw the
signature on the photograph-like sketch. Angelus.

*No, it couldn't be* Giles thought to himself as he flipped to the front of the book.  He looked at the
opening page, translating the Gaelic slowly:  "Here is the Journal of Angelus Boyle, Slayer Killer for
            the Vampire Master"

*Oh my God Angelus was the Slayer killer* Giles thought to himself.  Then the comment that Spike
had made to Angel thinking he was Angelus referred to him by Xander made sense. "Oh you know of
this Slayer? I thought you would just kill her."  Not only was Buffy in love with a vampire, but in love
            with the Slayer killer!

Xander and Willow continued to scout through the rooms.  Willow was amazed at the money and
jewelry the vampires hoarded.  They gathered everything they could find of interest and value and
started to pack it into trunks.  They had talked to send it home to Buffy's mother.  Any journals they
placed for Giles to go through.

It felt odd and too macabre fro Willow's peace of mind to be digging through the belongings of the dead
vampires. Usually you just kill them and they turn to dust.  These were creatures with likes and
dislikes, and wrote letters to people. It made the vampires too much into people for their mental
comfort. Giles pulled himself away from the journals. He went over to Xander and Willow and asked,
            "Where is Buffy and Angel?"

Willow looked up and smiled, and nodded toward Angel's door, "In his room.  They locked us out."
Willow smiled she was very happy Angel and Buffy were together again. Buffy was happier than Willow
had ever seen her, despite the potential end of the world...

Giles looked at the door. He wasn't sure if he wanted to knock or not.  Before he had to decide, Angel
and Buffy emerged; he was carrying one of the chests casually thrown over his shoulder.  Buffy
            followed him.

"Are you all done?" Angel asked briskly.  They nodded; they had the items pack for the last hour while
they waited. "Bring what we are taking. I want to leave." Angel looked around and frowned as they
gathered the spoils and left picking up the gypsies at the juncture on the way out.  The gypsies were
            more than happy to leave.

They arrived at the main compound just as the sky was beginning to lighten the sky. Angel had been
hunkered in the vehicle trying to avoid the lightening sky.  It was still to far away from actual sunrise to
seriously hurt him, but the light was making him squint and shift uncomfortably.

They walked into the living room to find Tirla sitting in a large chair talking with Karl and his wife.
They seemed very pleased with the attention they were getting from the Lady Tirla.  Angel frowned,
he was tired, he hurt and he was hungry and irritable and didn't want to put up with any more gypsy
            crap.

"Ah Angelus.  You have my talisman?"  It was more of a statement than a question.  The Lady Tirla
put her hand out and he dropped the cloth wrapped bundle into it. She looked at it and nodded.  She
then sat forward and put out her other hand and he bent at the waist and kissed it. The effect wasn't
missed by the Gypsies watching.  Angelus did indeed answer to the Lady Tirla  "Ah my sweet Angel.  I
know how hard this was for you.,” she told him softly.  He nodded, she realized the pain she put him
            through.

The Lady Tirla turned and addressed the gypsies who were coming to see the returned heroes. "I know
this has been a hard time for all.  I give my thanks to my Romani for doing such a hard thing as to lay
aside your ancestral animosity to serve me.  I know it was not easy. Karl Calendash, you and your
family are hereby released from being the Watchers of Angelus.  Your job is completed.  Your children
are released." Karl nodded. This was good.

"There is no more vengence now against Angelus from the Calendash Clan is there?" She looked
closely at each face.  They all shook their heads no.

"Angelus.  There is no vengeance for the Clan from you is there?" She asked him.

He shook his head as he replied "No, No my Lady" he held not animosity to these descendent of the
those who curse him with a vengeance.  If the original cursers had been alive, he would have gleefully
made garters of their intestines, but these descendants had nothing to do with the laying on or breaking
            of his curse.

"So Mote It Be" Tirla clapped her hands, nodded her head and walked out.  They all stared at the door
as it closed.  Angel looked at Buffy and Giles and his eyes pleaded for them to leave. Giles nodded, and
the belongings were packed and they were soon on the way back to Lady Tirla's Castle, secure in a
            dark van.
